McKenzie narrowly defeated in judo round of 16

A valiant effort was not enough for Jamaican judoka Ashley McKenzie as he was defeated 1-0 in the round of 16 in the men’s 60kg category at the Paris Olympic Games.

Facing Salih Yildiz of Turkey, McKenzie could not get the better of his opponent as Yildiz scored the all-important point after the three-minute mark.

The contest ended at four minutes with both combatants accumulating two penalties each.
