Ride carefully in Reggae 6

Fast finishing MAGNIFICENT FORCE (No.11), ridden by Ian Spence, winning the ninth race over 5 1/2 furlongs ahead of MIDNIGHT FLIGHT (Shane Ellis) against the rails at Caymanas Park on Saturday.

SATURDAY's Reggae 6 was swept by Dane Dawkins, Shane Ellis and a pair of new claiming riders, who used their nine-pound allowances to telling effect in back-to-back races.

Ellis and Dawkins, both on break from the Canadian circuit, each rode two winners on the nine-race card. Dawkins opened the programme with a victory in the stewards' room, easing Reggae 6 bettors' jitters after RILEY J, one of four selections touted last week, struck at odds of 8-1 with Jerome Innis.

To the relief of most who did not heed the warning, RILEY J's number was taken down for interference and the race awarded to second-past-the-post WAYNE'SCHERRYLINKS with Dawkins aboard at odds of 9-5.

Similar to last week's Reggae 6 warning, Saturday's opener is a potential minefield only that the hurdle is a claiming event for optional $200,000 runners. STORM VALLEY appears alluring as a banker for back-to-back wins. However, play it safe by adding PRINT QUALITY, MR LYNDHURST and ZD EYE.

Ellis, who easily won last week's second event astride United States-bred favourite PROPELLANT, outclassing native five-year-olds, non-winners of two races, at seven furlongs, gets a second chance aboard Anthony Nunes' TIGERAMEDAT, who was fast catching imported FINAL LOAD at seven furlongs when last out.

LADY SARSUTTA should make all at five furlongs straight with Oshane Nugent in the third whereas Trevor Simpson should land the fourth with imported SHOOTING STAR, who ran a big race for third on the heels of return-winner TITAN TEMPO when both were beaten by SMART TRICK at six and a half furlongs.

Spread bets to include ELECTRODE, CHARMING SOUND, HE STANDS ALONE and WATERMAN JOHN in the fifth, a four-furlong blink sprint. Also take out the shotgun for the closer in which any of EAGLE ONE, JAGUAR, BUGATTI, KP CHOICE, POWER RANKING and well-drawn POSING ALREADY can strike.
