ABREATHOFFRESHAIR, ridden by Dane Dawkins, wins the fifth race over 5 1/2 furlongs at Caymanas Park on Saturday, January 18.

NOTING JUSTIN BIGTIME's change of equipment in the second event, tongue-tie fitted, after finishing eighth of 14 two weeks prior, made the difference between winning or losing Saturday's Reggae 6, which returned a decent $187,673 to 30 surviving tickets.

JUSTIN BIGTIME returned with tongue-tie fitted to turn tables on four rivals - CRYPTOGIRL, J SPEITH, IMMEASURABLE JOY and 4-5 favourite PRINCESS AMAHLE - who had all finished ahead of him on January 18 in a five-and-a-half furlong event won by MAGNIFICENT FORCE.

Running at odds of 10-1, JUSTIN BIGTIME notched a gate-to-wire victory, one of two winners for champion jockey Raddesh Roman, who later closed the Reggae 6 with a cheeky ride aboard 3-5 favourite TIGRAY EXPRESS, closing the door on rail-running COLORADO RANGER.

The opening event was won by out-of-class GREEN GOLD RUSH, who recovered from a poor start with Dane Dawkins to mow down SIR JOHN, who pointed a furlong out after wresting the lead from GREAT WAYNE.

MARCH AND SHOOT, the 3-2 favourite, ran as most horses expecting the race to be set up for them often do, flattening in the stretch run after being forced to come off his bridle too early in the seven-furlong event.

MISS COUPERSLAND caught 4-5 favourite GELROY by a nose in the third at five furlongs straight, triggering a crucifixion of claiming rider Richard Henry for peeping through his legs, only that his struggling mount had long run out of gas and was running on fumes close home.

LADY BABITA was duly rewarded at odds of 7-2 in the fourth at five furlongs straight for the Eight Thirty Sprint after an encouraging run on debut when circling rivals, slowly into stride on the round course on Christmas Eve.

Breaking smartly with Tevin Foster replacing Ryan Lewis, the Soul Warrior-Lady Abhijita offspring repelled LINGUIST from start to finish.

Off-time 1-2 favourite, MARGARITA, who had tried stealing a march on debut, leading into the lane in the Christmas Eve event at five furlongs round, failed to reproduce that effort out the straight.

BUZZ ASSAULT repeating among $350,000 claimers should have come as no surprise, notching a second straight win for trainer Ryan Williams in as many runs since claimed from Saqlain Roman.

The grey gelding made all with claiming rider Shayne Martin at five furlongs straight, winning at odds of 5-2.

Reggae 6 bettors should note the regularity with which the claiming riders have been in the winners' enclosure, Martin joined by Richie Shakes and Romane Gordon, who won aboard MISS COUPERSLAND and 5-1 chance JAMES In the seventh, respectively.

This weekend's Reggae 6 opens on Saturday with a single-winner bonus of $2.4 million.
