Tread carefully with Reggae 6 selections
SWEET VICTORY landing last Saturday's fourth race at 13-1 with Tevin Foster rocked many Reggae 6 bets, forcing a payout of $322,110, leaving a single-winner bonus of $10.09 million dangling at the start of this weekend's Saturday-Sunday dual meet.
Unlike last Saturday's Reggae 6, which started with consecutive winning favourites, SONNY T AND CHIPPY and SOLACE, things could get sticky from the opening event in which LUCY IN THE SKY could turn the form around after an awful start on last.
TRAIN OF THOUGHT, OIL MACHINE and ZULU WARRIOR are also strong contenders on their best day, whereas BLU SENSATION could spring to life on back-class.
SENSATIONAL MOVE's last run was too bad to be true, pointing to a possible reversal of form in the second race at five and a half furlongs, whereas MILOS' consistency cannot be questioned.
Older non-winners of two races are always tricky runners to gauge on soundness. Precaution is necessary in the form of multiple selections to include SECURITY CODE, I AM INTERESTED, MONEY MUST and DOUBLE DE CASH.
ANOTHER ONE will have to be caught at five and a half furlongs in the fourth. However, imported MISS MARBELLA cannot be underestimated from a camp which doesn't drill horses first time out.
Settlers going four furlongs straight can never be trusted hence multiple selections are encouraged in the fifth to include SCHLESINGER, GALWAY BAY and ESUSE ME GOODBYE.
Maidens at five furlongs straight can be a tricky bunch in the Reggae 6 closer. ALCHEMY OF SOULS, PRETTY SASSY, NATIVE FLYER and I'M OUTSTANDING are recommended as cover.
