Pregnant

Dear Pastor,

I am writing to you because I have a problem. I am still in high school, but I have a boyfriend. We have been friends for three years. He is working and helps me with money. He shows me that he loves me. I am not in need of anything. He took my virginity. He is my only man.

pastor, I found out I am pregnant. It is not something I thought would have happened. That was the last thing on my mind. I don't know what to do.

Every time I look at myself, tears come to my eyes. I feel like I am a disappointment. I told him I want to have an abortion, but he is not in for that. This is not the way my parents grew me up. I don't know how to tell them I am pregnant. I can't see myself going to church. How can I tell my mother and father I am expecting. Please help me to make a decision. Should I keep the baby or get rid of it? I am not sure if I will be able to live with myself if I have an abortion. I don't want to lose my boyfriend. I am not ready for a child. I know my boyfriend could leave me for another girl if I do an abortion. So, please, give me your advice.

V.N

Dear V.N,

I suggest you carry the pregnancy. After you have given birth, go back to school. Tell your parents you are pregnant. You may shock them, but they will not kill you. It is better for you to tell them before the pregnancy begins to show. They have done their best for you and you didn't mean to disappoint them. I believe they will help you to take care of this child. The parents of the young man may chip in and do their part also.
