Having difficulty getting pregnant after abortion
Dear Pastor,
Greetings to you. I am 29. I have a boyfriend who is 25. We got engaged last year. We have been together for three years. I got pregnant last year, but had to get an abortion because I was out of a job. I am just getting one now.
I am trying to conceive again, but it seems impossible. My menstrual cycle has changed from 28 to 21 days. I have read and done research that states that a woman with a 21-day menstrual cycle is harder to conceive than a woman with a 28-day cycle.
Please pray for me. I don't want to get married to him and cannot give him a child. I have a three-year-old. This man needs a child for himself, even though he said that he was willing to stay with me if he does not get a child.
I would not want that because he is a good man and a good step-dad. Do you believe it is right for me to date or even marry someone younger that I am? Will it be a problem in the long run?
L.
Dear L.,
You should have a talk with your family physician and a psychologist.
Why are you so anxious to become pregnant again? Is it because your conscience is bothering you because you had terminated a pregnancy?
You are not even sure whether the man loves you or would remain with you. You are concerned about the age difference. You are an unhappy woman.
Please remember a child is not a toy. You should not have had an abortion last year. The reason you gave for doing so is ludicrous. Discuss your menstrual problem with your family physician.
Pastor
