I want to marry my police boyfriend

Dear Pastor,

Greetings to you in the name of Jesus! This is my first time writing to you. I enjoy reading your column.

I am a 20-year-old female. I am currently in a relationship with a policeman who does everything in his power to make me happy and comfortable. He helped me to build a house, which I moved into just a month ago.

He is 30 years old and we have been together since I was 17. My family and friends respect him because I speak highly of him all the time. Pastor, I love this man so much.

I recently completed a course at a vocational centre and hope to get a job soon. After all that I've been through, I know God would open a door for me, but that's a total different story.

I want you to pray for us to get married and live happily ever after. Thank you and keep up the good work.

K.S.

Dear K.S.,

I am always happy to hear good stories about police officers. So many people say bad things about them. Thank God that there are many good ones and your boyfriend is in the category of the good.

Your relationship with him started when you were very young and he has helped you from the age of 17 until now. He means you well. He has spent his money and helped you to build a house.

I can see why you think highly of him. Not many policemen would use their money to make their woman feel very comfortable.

I would encourage you to try and go back to school. The course that you have taken is not enough. I am sure you can reason with this policeman to help you go further.

Don't be in a hurry to get married. Remember, you are only 20 years old. Spend another few years in study.

Try not to get pregnant too soon. Pregnancy can impede your future if it is not planned.

This policeman will marry you when the right time comes, so don't push him. Both of you should try to put God first in your life. When you put God first, everything will fall into place. You have my prayers.

Pastor
