Getting rid of that fishy smell

January 20, 2020

Dear Pastor,

I hope this day finds you in the best of health. I read in your column about a young woman who had a problem with bad smell 'down there'. Years ago, my daughter, who was about 10 years old at the time, was having a very nasty smell down there. We went to doctors and they couldn't find anything wrong. We were sent to an obstetrician-gynaecologist (ob-gyn)for kids, and the doctor found out that my daughter had toilet paper inside of her. She was wiping hard and it got stuck on the wall of her vagina; it was something that shouldn't be there.

It started to smell really bad and once the tissue paper was removed, she never had a problem with it again. It was just a small piece of toilet paper, but because it was a foreign object inside of her, it caused a bad smell. So please have that young lady go to her ob-gyn and have it checked out. It could be something that small.

Dear R.L,

I must thank you for your letter. I appreciate it very much and I trust that the lady who wrote to me will mention what you have said to her gynecologist. Again, thank you very much for writing. I am sure it would be helpful to women in general.
