The poor can’t do any better
Dear Pastor,
A pleasant good day to you. I am 19 years of age. Concerning the coronavirus, I wouldn't say most people do not want to take the warning seriously.
The thing is, they just can't do better. Most of the people out there are from the ghetto, and that simply means that they are poor; and they have to be out there (on the street), just to make two ends meet to support their families.
It is really sad sometimes, but they can't do better.
R.
Dear R.,
I could understand how you would reason this matter. I listened to the news and I watched the news on television, and I see how people are complaining how difficult it is for them to sell certain items and to have enough money to buy food, and then to try and get home before the curfew begins.
Some of these people are very poor, and I agree with you in the sense that I don't believe that they wilfully want to break the law. On the other hand, these people have to try and plan intelligently how they can do what they have to do and get off the street. Some of these people might be living in depressed areas, but surely not all of them.
I thank you for your observation, but let all of us try to obey the laws and work together so that the virus can be controlled.
Pastor
