Can’t pay for my HIV medication

November 17, 2020

Dear Pastor,

I am writing to you for the first time. I must say to you that I climbed a mango tree and put the rope around my neck and was about to jump off but found myself starting to cry.

I had a change of heart. I came off the mango tree and took up my pen and decided to write to you so that the world may read my story.

First, I must tell you that I am HIV positive. I am living with the AIDS virus but I am on my medication. I was diagnosed in 2006. Sometimes I can't pay my monthly rent.

I can't take the money for rent and buy drugs. I have to have food to eat at times. I can't find the money to see my doctor. But when I can't pay for my medication, I become suicidal. Sometimes I say to myself that I would be better off if I commit suicide because my needs and wants will be over. I have needs.

Initials Withheld

Dear Initials Withheld,

I am to advise you to go to AIDS Healthcare Foundation office located on Hagley Park Road in Kingston to receive free services. Do not delay. Do so as early as possible.

Do not yield to the temptation to destroy yourself. God is able to help you. You have my prayers.

Pastor
