My sister’s niece likes me

Dear Pastor,

I have been reading your column since I was in primary school. Now I am working, but I continue to buy THE STAR. I am living with my girlfriend.

She has a niece who came to live with us. Her niece has a crush on me. The first time I knew that she liked me was when she winked at me. I went about my business but when we were alone, I asked her if she had a crush on me and she said yes. She said she does not like how her aunt talks to me sometimes.

She is 16 years old. I told her that I do not want her aunt and I to have any fuss. She told me she can handle herself because although she is 16, she knows her way around, and her mother was glad to let her leave because her mother caught her with a big man. She said the big man was their landlord.

NOT PLEASED

My girlfriend works this girl too hard. She makes her cook, wash and clean and we pay her minimum wage. Pastor, I love this girl. Sometimes she sends me texts and she wants to know if I have any use. Sometimes she sits down and exposes herself. My girlfriend is pregnant. She will soon have a baby. I am planning to ask my sister to come and stay with us to help my girlfriend. I said it to her niece, but she is not pleased about that. She does not want anybody to share her room with her.

This girl is very attractive and I can see myself getting into trouble if I yield to temptation. I asked my wife if my sister can come and stay with us and she agreed. My sister has two children. My wife would need the help with the baby for a while. What do you think?

Dear W.W.,

You have waited too long to get your wife's niece out of your house. She will get you into big trouble. She loves you and she doesn't see anything wrong in having an affair with you. She is 16 but she is still a child. Your wife would blame you for becoming involved with her because if you were to go to bed with this girl, she is likely to say that you are the one who pushed yourself on her. And your wife would believe her.

This girl told you that she has 'been around' and she has had experience with men. This girl should be in school. You can get this girl out of your house easily by telling her aunt that she loves you and it would be better for her to go home. Don't play with fire.

Pastor
