My vagina makes weird sounds
Dear Pastor,
I am 43 and I have two boys and one girl. I have never been married. I am employed. My babyfathers support the children. Presently, I have a man who helps me with my rent.
Sometimes when I am down, I can always call on him for money to buy food. I don't do that often. What I want to talk to you about is a little embarrassing. Whenever he and I are having sex, my vagina makes some farting sounds. The first time that happened, he asked me what was causing that and I told him that I did not know. I felt embarrassed. This thing has been happening more and more and he thinks my vagina may be too big or his penis is too small. Sometimes the noise is very loud. I just don't know how to stop this.
Do you know what is really happening?
O.F.
Dear O.F.,
Occasionally women ask this question. They are concerned about the sound coming from their vagina during lovemaking. They, too, are embarrassed and they are truly concerned about the problem. Your man friend thinks that your vagina might be too large and you need to do something to tighten it.
According to sex therapists, a woman does not need to feel embarrassed because of the sound that comes from her vagina during sex. They say: " Queefing is an involuntary bodily function that occurs when trapped air is released from the vagina. The release of this air is the vaginal fart or queef. When the air is released, you might hear a sound similar to a fart. However, unlike flatulence, a queef does not emit any odour. Even though there is no odour, the sound of queefing can be embarrassing."
So, this sound is not because your vagina is too large or your boyfriend's penis is too small. So, perish that thought. Don't try to do anything to tighten up your vagina.
Pastor
