Senior citizens desperate for a new home
Dear Pastor,
Greetings to you, in the Mighty name of Jesus, our soon coming King. This is my first letter to you. My husband and I live together. We are senior citizens. My husband is not working.
We both want some help. Kindly pray for us. We would like to leave from where we are living. At our present home, thieves broke in and took some of our items. But we praise God that they did not kill us. Praise God that we are still alive.
We would like you to pray for us so that we can find somebody with a two-storey house on a large plot of land that we can live there and plant fruit trees. I would like if my husband and I can have a free place to live and my husband can take care of the place. We would like to have a house with three rooms, a bathroom and a kitchen. We would live in harmony with the owner.
We like to help people. We used to rent a place, but the lady did not live in harmony with us. We don't want to live among people who curse. My husband is getting Poor Relief money. Sometimes I get help from my daughter who is in Florida and my adopted brother. We trust food and we owe people in St Catherine. Right now we would like to have about $90,000 to pay all our debts. Please try and help us.

Dear N.L.,
You are making some big requests. But considering your age, we have decided to try and help you. I can imagine that it is difficult for people who are in their senior years to be struggling to find a place to live and are struggling to find food. I know that churches are willing to help senior citizens. I wish you would contact some of the churches in your neighbourhood. I would suggest that you consider approaching mainstream churches. They have social programmes and they will be willing to help you if they can.
The Salvation Army is always willing to help. If you are living close to a branch of that organisation, try and approach them and ask them for help. I am sure that the Catholic church will help you. Every week, different churches have received help from Food For The Poor to distribute to people who are in need. Ask around and you will get help.
I don't know who the councillor in your area is, but he or she should be able to help you too. Sometimes church leaders may know folks who might be happy to have your husband and yourself live with them and take care of their property. I will be praying for you and I will ask that you contact me again and let me know what progress you have made.
Pastor
