Climatic face-offs on Magnum Kings and Queens
It was a fiery and historical staging of the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall talent series as four contestants battled for prime spot in the competition.
The contestant face-offs saw lyrical clashes between Castle Red's Blindz against D'Agent and Kadijah against Rae Dyance that seemed to resonate with the audience at D'Entrance on Constant Spring Road.
Kadijah and D'Agent, as a result, departed this year's season of the show, while Blindz and Rae Dyance advance to compete for $1 million and the crown.
A very proud Blindz, who won the face-off, had a warning for his fellow contestants. "Look out for Blindz. Give thanks for the face-off. Shellings, crush road, dust road," he said.
This week's show also revealed outstanding performances from Skillarchy and Tequilla. Skillarchy connected with the audience with his song, A Money Mi A Pree.
"Me sing things that people can relate to, pure conscious things. The melody and flows are catchy. People can sing my songs for years to come," he said.
Meanwhile, Tequila is confident about a career after the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall. "At first, when I came on the stage I was nervous, but after a while I realised I could interact with the crowd. It's a simple thing. Just come with your A-game. The crowd love me from the money song. When I finish Magnum, I plan to take to another level. I see myself five years on tour to Europe, you know, all over the place."
The sixth live performance show of Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall Season 9, takes place on Saturday, at D'Entrance on Constant Spring Road. The show airs live on Saturdays at 9:30 p.m. and repeats on Tuesdays at 11:30 p.m. and Thursdays at 11 p.m. on TVJ.
