After months of campaigning and performances, the new Magnum Queen of Dancehall, Suspense, said she is relieved and happy that the competition has come to an end with her at the top.

"I feel lighter than a few months ago. On a day like today, I'd be writing in the studio. I'd be campaigning. Now, I'm resting to go back to work on Wednesday (today)," Suspense told THE STAR.

Having worked at the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation as a compliance officer for a while, Suspense insists that she will not be abandoning the design of her life before the fame, and that she will be going back to her nine-to-five job that she held before becoming a household name.

Suspense has a lot to smile about after defeating Rankin Pumpkin, who many persons thought could have grabbed the crown since the winner of Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall is determined solely by public votes. Nonetheless, Suspense persevered on Saturday night and excited the audience at Police Officers' Club in St Andrew with biting lyrics.

Now, she said, she has plans to pursue tertiary studies. But before that, she intends to use her winnings to invest in the development of her career.

"I don't make any step as yet, but steps I wanted to make before, I can do now," she said. "I'm on it. I'm resting, so once I get back into the groove of work, I'm trying to get my things out, and get some videos done."

Though she has no distinct plans for the funds, the artiste expressed excitement at the prospect of being able to afford proper studio time, along with the assistance of a professional studio mixing engineer.

"Now it's time to invest in myself. Get some real studio time. Get some real mix down," she said. "When you go out and you have to beg dem play my song ... now I can have a good song on TV, on radio. I want to keep trending. I want to try my best to do so," Suspense told THE STAR.
