Teetimus changes focus - Producer moves to become entertainer
Platinum-selling record producer Teetimus has signalled his intentions to become a recording artiste.
Teetimus, who contributed to Damian Jr Gong Marley's Grammy-winning album Stony Hill, told THE WEEKEND STAR that he has been contributing to massive projects for other entertainers over the years and believes the time has come for him become a recording artiste.
"Mi still a work pan a lot of projects, but me a concentrate on me now, too. I'm working on me as an artiste. Mi have two new singles [Party like a Rockstar and Target] weh mi drop already and working on the video for them," he said.
Teetimus said that his work done as a producer over the years has been behind the scenes. He is known for his work on several huge tracks, including Mr Vegas's Bruck It, Affairs of the Heart by Damian Marley, and Lifestyle, featuring Tanto Blacks.
"When mi start do music, mi never know mi did a go contribute to Grammy albums. Mi a come from a drummer to a producer, to an artiste, so mi never know dem ting yah did ago happen," he said.
"Inna dis business, a certain people get certain work, like the Grammy work, and so me grateful fi everything weh happen fi mi. Mi is not a youth weh put up mi ting dem and seh mi do dis and do dat and a just faith, hard work, and sacrifice put we yah so."
Teetimus produced So A Child May Follow on the Stony Hill album.
"Mi and Jr Gong work over the years and we have a chemistry because me work pan Affairs of the Heart. Him send fi mi fi do some tracks for the album and him pick one. It is a pleasure to be on a Grammy-winning album, and mi wah seh big up Jr Gong every time. Dem man deh a legend," he said.
