As the World Cup continues in Russia, the excitement is building, and Jamaicans have been glued to their television sets since the tournament got under way last Thursday.

Well aware of the fact that no one wants to miss the matches, several sports bars and grills across the island will be looking to capitalise on the football fever this season. Offering patrons some deals on food and drinks, these chill spots are competing to see who will draw the biggest World Cup crowd.

When THE STAR contacted 100, which is based on Hope Road, Alexisse Chin, marketing manager, said that the World Cup is one of the most exciting times for any sports bar or restaurant.

"100 will be screening FIFA World Cup football matches live in all eating areas of the property. Those would be the sports lounge, the terrace and the rooftop at 100 on small screens. There is absolutely no cost to come in," she said. "We will be having a special game time menu with food starting at $600," she said, noting that there will also be drink specials.

Although other sports bars are expected to host viewings, Chin encouraged the public to chose 100, pointing out that for the semi-finals and finals, the watch parties will be hosted by special guests.

"We expect the vibe to be fever pitch with friendly rivalries. If we are to use the magic that happened here during the UEFA Champions League Finals last month, everyone is going to have an amazing time. So, just come out and watch with us to get the 100 experience," Chin said.

Triple Century said they, too, will be having specials throughout the World Cup season. They, however, did not go into details, indicating that their specials will change every week. Instead, they encouraged patrons to tune in to their social media platforms for the World Cup announcements.

A-Bar and Usain Bolt's Tracks and Records are among the other sports bars and grills offering specials for patrons this World Cup.
