Last Wednesday, VP Records and Dameon Gayle presented the exclusive debut and director's Zoom chat for Busy Signal's new single and video, Seen It Before.

And, the music video, produced by Gayle's Warriors Musick and appropriately described as a "mini music movie", proved to be such a great theatrical production, that the song itself has almost become the subtext.

Seen It Before, an exclusive release on the VP Records label, comes from Strictly The Best Vol. 61 and will be officially released today.

Busy Signal has been teasing fans with snippets of the mini music movie, which is part of the thread which stitches up the blockbuster single, Stay So, from his critically acclaimed album, Parts of the Puzzle.

38 million streams

The video for Stay So has amassed more than 38 million streams on YouTube and was another feather in director Gayle's hat. Fans had been clamouring for a sequel, but the team instead did a prequel.

Gayle reaches for the cast members from Stay So, among them, Jermaine' ZBEK' Nelson and Johnoy 'TV Boss' Williams, and he introduces a special guest, health and fitness guru Kamila McDonald. Once again, the spotlight is on the underworld. Seen It Before explores the power struggle within the gang, the reality of a gangster's life and the tensions of a double life, with church boy Nelson, also being a gang leader.

As Williams said during the discussion, Gayle brought "the wow factor", and this is evident from the discussion comments praising the brilliant one-liners, the excellent use of lighting, the superb angles, clever use of props, authentic locations and make-up effects.
