The world's fastest man may be aiming to make records in the music industry, promoting his latest productions, but Usain Bolt says he is in no race to hit any parties without the necessary protocols.

While shooting for international Podcast Earn Your Leisure at the St Andrew outlet of the Usain Bolt's Tracks and Records franchise yesterday, Bolt told THE STAR "I'm not going to every and any party. I choose wisely especially if it's a big outdoor space and I can hold a corner to myself."

He continued "In trying to promote the music, we are careful. A-Team Lifestyle definitely wants to push the music, but again, I have a big family now, so I am definitely careful about where I'm going."

Bolt also endorsed the idea of VIP-vaccinated sections or 'vaxx blocks', as a means of controlling the flow of parties and enforcing protocols.

"That's the key thing, safety. We all want to have fun, but we all want to be safe while doing so," he said. Initially, Bolt's collaboration with G. H. Mumm champagne in the role of 'chief entertainment officer', landed him in the sector which is arguably more competitive than track and field. But this has not deterred him. He said that he sees a relationship between sports and music from the standpoint of "a person who is always building my profile and brand," and music is something he has loved for a long time.

His Olympe Rose champagne was launched two years ago at the restaurant and doubled as the official release party for the Olympe Rose rhythm, for which he played the role of executive producer. However, it was not until last year that he was able to get into the groove of production.

He said "In the pandemic, I had some free time (so) I decided to venture into music. It's a process to let people know I am serious about it. I am trying but I guess people know me as a track person, but now they will see I'm into music and the aim is to continue making good music."

Bolt is currently promoting the Clockwork rhythm and his latest single It's A Party.
