Gospel songbird Petra Kaye Linton is answering the call of her audience to finally deliver an album. The singer-songwriter, who says she believes people are more receptive to live music, recorded the tracks for the album, Sing Praises, with the PKM band, and is gearing up for its release.

She sang praises for musicians Kamar Forrest, Rhon Matthison, Brinton Haughton Jr, Brandon Benjamin and vocalists Yvette Ebanks, Jaycynth Campbell Brown and Jucal Dyer who helped the project come to life.

"The experience is good as always. I love working with them. They continue to help me develop my craft as an artiste, and I've been able to take away valuable lessons from them especially during rehearsals," she told THE WEEKEND STAR.

On April 1, Linton will release the Christ Alo ne single, as a teaser to the album. She said the date is significant as most of her songs have been released on the first of a month "because to me it symbolises newness and my team and I have continued in that light".

" Christ Alone is one of the strong songs on the album," she said.

"This is why I chose this as the pre-released single, it is a precursor to what can be expected from the album. I really hope that it will make persons interested in purchasing or streaming the album, as well as minister to people," said Linton.

With the entertainment sector being reopened, she has plans to head out into the streets to promote the album.

"We definitely want to penetrate a wide audience, not just the Christian community. I'll say let us wait and see how promotions go, but Jamaica can expect to see a lot of Petra Kaye this year," she said.
