Weekly video uploads of persons participating in challenges during parties have gone viral, with the latest being the 'Chop Up Chicken' challenge.

It's the brainchild of the organisers of weekly event Badda Tuesdayz and they believe they have found a way to keep patrons entertained without following "distasteful trends".

"The challenges or competitions are just our way of trying to add another level of entertainment to our weekly event to stand out. As a team we sit and brainstorm how we can achieve this. Trust me, you would be surprised of the different ideas we come up with," selector Badda Bling shared. "We also try to stay away from distasteful trends so that just about anybody can enter and enjoy our competitions. This idea was for the females to cut up and clean a whole chicken while making sure we are able to identify the different parts, leg, thigh, breast and so on."

The video had social media in a frenzy with some persons enjoying the highlights while others debated that the activities are offensive to the women who are asked to participate.

But Badda Bling disagreed. Some of the weekly competitions hosted by Badda Tuesdayz include soda drinking, a quiz competition with questions from past grade four and five diagnostic test papers, dumpling eating and the banana peeling challenge which also went viral.

"We had a chef inside the event, making and cooking the dumplings so that when the ladies [were ready] for them, they were hot and ready. In the past we had rum drinking for males, but that is something we do not plan to do again. But persons have been asking for something the males can participate in," he said.

The well-known dancehall street promoter said that he has accepted that they won't be able to please everyone

"Most times the persons, the presenter, and MCs finds innovative ways to pull in the female patrons, and the ones they choose don't know what the competition is until they commit to enter [but] a cash incentive is the plus," he said, adding that the females who competed in the 'Chop Up Chicken' challenge were given the chicken they cut and cleaned up to take home along with cash.

"It's just entertainment, we want to make it fun. So as long as what we are doing is well-received by the majority, it is a win for us," Badda Bling said.

The weekly event, which is held at the Legendary Bar and Grill in Portmore, St Catherine, has been postponed since Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced a state of public emergency for the parish last week.
