Vershon speaks ‘Di Truth’

Recording artiste Vershon is upbeat about his latest single, Di Truth.

Known for sharing life lessons through music, the artiste left no stones unturned when he recently collaborated with producers DJ Treasure and 1 Family Records. The single spreads light on his upbringing in the garrison of Kingston 11, and the different influences that helped him to stay on the right path, while having faith and never losing focus on his goals and dreams.

Vershon decided to pen this track because he believes that with everything that's happening in the country right now, with the upsurge of crime and violence, his voice can reach into the inner city to motivate youth not to give up on their future by turning to badness. He also opined that the music needs a balance, and expressed a desire to do something different, instead of following the crowd.

"Mi nuh see nuh new artiste touring Europe right now. The music is in a state that needs repair and if every man play dem role in keeping a balance in the music, everything will be alright," he said.

The song, which was released on May 5, has garnered more than 100,000 views on his YouTube channel, and plenty of comments praising the artiste for delivering fresh music to the ears. To build on the momentum, Vershon stated that he has new music in his catalogue and will be releasing another single, Virtuous Woman, this Mother's Day, May 14, from his upcoming reggae EP.
