Legato wants to ‘Cancel Dem Siance’
Recording artiste Legato is making his presence felt with his new song, Cancel Dem Siance.
The track was released in early May and produced by Fada Bravo and Jagga Records. The message of the track is contrary to some of the more recent music that has been released in Jamaica.
"The song is about unity and about teaching the youth the right thing. People tend to glorify the wrong things; we grew up in the Church. So we are not in any voodoo business, we know right from wrong. This whole 'chopping' business, to me, is a form of robbery, so you won't hear me singing about chopping any line. I feel like at least one good apple must be on the tree, so I am telling my truth," the artiste said.
Legato opined that his positive message and authentic approach is why people are gravitating towards his music.
"Message is very important. We are losing the roots of our culture, that is reggae music. The music now that is being released is not what the world knows our music to be, and that is why our music is declining. Artistes need to be putting out more music that has longevity and encourages positive behaviour. Whether we want to believe it or not, we have a duty to the youth as artistes," he said.
