Music producer Leon Smillie is unwilling to comprise his standards to achieve success in the music business.

"As a music producer, I am passionate about my work, that's why I put a lot of creativity and financial resources into the creation of my projects. Every production that I put out is high standard because I want my label, Total Satisfaction Records, to be known worldwide as a label that produces top-quality music. I am not here just to make money. If that was the case, I would have quit the music business a long time ago. I am making music that will be around forever," he said.

He also lamented that instead of hiring musicians to create live reggae rhythms, many producers choose to use computerised rhythms for their productions.

"I am not here to tell anyone how to produce reggae music, but I prefer to do it the old-fashioned way with musicians playing live instruments in the studio to create the rhythms. I think that is the best way to create rhythms for reggae projects. The computerised stuff is OK if you are producing dancehall music," he said.

The New York-based producer is getting ready to release his new reggae rhythm project, the 'Rock Hard' rhythm.

"This is an authentic roots reggae project that features some very good songs, and I am sure it will receive a warm reception from reggae music lovers all over the world," he said. The five-song project features songs from artistes such as Capleton, Richie Spice, Turbulence, Lutan Fyah, and Jah Hammad.
