Zinthos talks about struggles on ‘Tears’
Dancehall artiste Zinthos relates his real-life struggles on his latest single ' Tears', which was produced by Ivey League Productions.
"The inspiration for Tears comes from experiencing my own mother's struggles and real physical tears running down her face. While I didn't even know what to do at that tender age to comfort her, it's the real story of my own life," Zinthos explained. The artiste grew up between Papine and Lawrence Tavern in St Andrew.
Tears also tackles the issue of the hardships that people face, while calling on the government to provide a way out for the less fortunate.
"Tears is a very relatable song. No citizen or individual can do anything without their true freedom. The vendors can't even sell in peace to provide for their children. We can help ourselves by hustling, but we can't get to do it freely," he reasoned.
Tears is among a batch of songs that Zinthos has recorded for the UK-based Ivey League Productions. He described as a "natural vibe" because "it's a family thing".
"I got multiple tracks coming from the label but Beats Dem Bad and Tears are the first set of songs that I did, which are out now. I have a lot more coming," he shared.
Zinthos, given name Membert Grizzle, came to the public's attention three years ago when he recorded the song Pesheng Weng Weng Weng which became a viral hit. The phrase also joined the lexicon of Jamaican slang.
