Producer makes singing debut

Music producer Conroy Smith is in a jubilant mood as he gets ready to launch his singing career with the release of his debut single, Real Love.

"I've always been a music lover from as early as I can remember. It is this great love for music that has inspired me to become a music producer, and now I've decided to try my hand at singing," he said. The easy-going producer is confident that his debut single, which was scheduled to be released last weekend on his Love Star label, will receive a warm reception.

"Everyone who has heard my song has given it the thumbs up. It's a beautiful song and I am confident that it will receive a warm response from music lovers worldwide," he said.

Smith added, "Some people believe this is a one-off thing, but I have a lot more songs in the works and I plan to be a very consistent recording artiste. I really enjoy recording very much and I don't plan to stop anytime soon. I'm living my dreams."

The New York-based producer-turned-singer originally hails from Montego Bay, St James.

He launched his Love Star label in 2019, and has produced songs for several popular reggae and dancehall artistes, including Luciano, Richie Spice, Macka Diamond, Natty King, Yaksta, Mr Easy, and Ginjah.
