Medikk’s mother calls for fasting and prayer - Asks churches to assist in bringing daughter home

Millicent McCurdy, the mother of dancehall entertainer Stephany 'Medikk' Williams, who has been missing for nearly two weeks, is begging the churches to help her to fast and pray for her daughter's safe return.

McCurdy, who is a devout Christian, shared that she believes that there is a purpose in this trial, however, right now, she just wants to hear her daughter's voice again.

"Only God can help me to fight this battle. I am pleading ... begging .... Jamaica, especially the churches, to come together and help me pray. I am asking the people of God to stand with me. So much things are happening and only Jesus Christ of Nazareth can help me now and destroy the enemy camp," McCurdy said in between bouts of crying.

In addition to prayer, she is asking churches throughout Jamaica to post her daughter's picture on their websites and their social media platforms to raise awareness of her disappearance.

The police report that 29 year-old Williams of Mayfair, Red Hills Road in St Andrew, has been missing since Thursday, August 24. She was last seen wearing a black blouse, black tights and a pair of black shoes. She is of brown complexion, slim build and about 5 feet 7 inches. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is being urged to call 311.

McCurdy told THE STAR that she and her daughter have always been very close, and she had a premonition of danger. She spoke to Medikk three times on the day that she was last seen.

"I grow my daughters in church ... this dancehall thing is not normal, it is demonic. Stef would call and ask me to pray for her and I tell her that I always do that and it is now time for her to pray for herself. I told her to find a church and go. The Thursday night when I was going to bed after 9 o'clock, I said, 'God I declare good over my daughters' lives. I shall not bury none of them ... they shall bury me.' But is like the Lord showed me that she was in danger," McCurdy said, while chanting prayers for the blood of Jesus to cover her daughter.

The single mother, who settled in Westmoreland as a teenager, spoke of getting pregnant at 17 with Medikk, only to later find out that her child's father died in an accident. She shared her trials as a mother of three girls and her financial breakthrough when her business began to reap success.

"I send my daughters to university ... . I buy tickets for them to travel overseas for holidays. Stef has her own natural care product line, Reborn Holistics ... it is in pharmacies all across Jamaica. She never had to do this music thing ... or all those things. Sometimes I would talk stern to her and tell her to leave everything and come home ... just pack up and come home."

McCurdy warned young girls in particular not to fall for the lure of this world.

"Girls, I am begging you to be on your guard ... . These men don't know God ... they are heartless. And I am encouraging those who don't know God to find him. To him who take away my daughter ... I don't know who you are, but you know yourself ... you will be judged," McCurdy declared.
