King of the Dancehall, Beenie Man, is aiming for nothing less than another Grammy Award with his 17th album, Simma, which was released on August 31.

Several weeks after hosting an official launch party for Simma, the Grammy winner is amping up support and showing his appreciation to fans with an album listening party tonight at Stone Love HQ on Burlington Avenue, St Andrew. Gates open at 9 p.m.

"This album is dedicated to all the fans who love and support Beenie Man throughout all these years ... this is for you all. Just come out, listen to it and see how far it can reach. Yeah, this is it, 'cause a di gong we a go for ... we nah go fi nutten else," Beenie Man told THE STAR.

He shared that the special event at Weddy Weddy Wednesdays will be "unforgettable" as the hallmark will be great music, performances, "and a chance for me to give back to my loyal fans who have been with me every step of the way".

Labelling Simma "a labour of love and countless hours of dedication", the veteran entertainer, who is known for his riveting performances, said he was eager to share the songs with his fans, stressing that the project shows his growth and maturity as an artiste.

"[There is] an exciting line-up of performances that will showcase the creativity and passion that went into crafting this project. From live interpretations of favourite tracks to surprise guest appearances, this party will be a true celebration of music and community," said Beenie Man, who enjoyed a huge ratings boost recently when his 1997 hit single, Who Am I, became a viral TikTok soundtrack. It then transformed into the #SimSimmaChallenge in which celebrities such as Kelly Rowland, La La Anthony, Ciara and Kim Kardashian participated.

Beenie Man said that as a token of his appreciation, entrance to the event tonight will be absolutely free and his team will also be providing complimentary beverages.

Hosted by CIGA Records, who currently co-manages Beenie Man's career, CEO Shawn Baptiste said that the arrival of the album marks the evolution of Moses Davis, "not necessarily a return or comeback as some persons have described it".

"Beenie Man never left. The success of his music is proof alone that he is a legend of the genre, and what do we do for legends? We celebrate them," Baptiste stated.

Simma boasts an impressive line-up of collaborators, including Busy Signal, Patoranking, Ms Banks, Mya, HoodCelebrityy, Dexta Daps, Shenseea, Bunji Garlin, Shaggy, Popcaan, Dre Island, Morgan Heritage, Sean Paul, Charly Black, Anthony Red Rose, Louie Culture, and Stonebwoy. In 2001, Beenie Man won the Grammy in the Best Reggae Album category for Art and Life.
