Jamaicans held for drugs in Antigua

Two Jamaican men were remanded in Antigua for drug-related offences.

According to www.antiguatribune.com, the two men, 35-year-old Andre Robinson and 34-year-old Prince Caballeroo were refused bail following their appearance in the St. John’s Magistrate’s Court this week. They return to court in September.

THE WEEKEND STAR gathered that law enforcement authorities in Antigua and Barbuda seized more than US$130,000 worth of marijuana and nabbed the two Jamaicans.

Reports from the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy, are that Robinson and Caballero were arrested when officers from that agency, along with police personnel, conducted a joint operation and found 88 pounds of compressed marijuana worth EC$352,000 (US$130,370) at a house on the outskirts of the capital.
One of the men attempted to flee, but he was apprehended not far from the area of operation.
