Cops probe suspected suicide of farmer Lynch
A St Catherine farmer who was known for repeatedly threatening to take his own life was later found lifeless at his home early this morning.
Dead is George Lynch, otherwise called 'Raj', a 39-year-old farmer of Crawl Road, Riversdale, St Catherine.
Reports are that about 12:30 a.m., Lynch's body was discovered in the yard of his home. The police were alerted and later visited the scene.
According to reports, earlier that evening, about 7:00 p.m. on January 28, Lynch was at home with his mother, a retiree, when he was informed that a relative would be coming to repair a back room at the house. He reportedly became upset and stormed off, saying he was going to kill himself.
Relatives reportedly told investigators that Lynch had developed a habit of making similar threats in the past and, as a result, the warning was not taken seriously.
He was not seen or heard from again until his body was discovered hours later.
The police processed the scene and the body was removed pending a post-mortem examination.
The Riversdale police are investigating the matter.
