No breakthrough in Clarendon double murder

The Clarendon police say they are yet to make a breakthrough in a double murder in May Pen on Sunday night.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Fitz Bailey, told THE STAR that they are still trying to establish a motive for the killing and they are yet to make an arrest.

Dead are Mavis Davis, a 63-year-old household worker, and Michael Williams, a 48-year-old labourer, both of Ivory Close in the parish.

The police say residents heard explosions about 8:50 p.m. and alerted them. When the cops arrived, they found Davis and Williams's bodies outside their single room abode, both with gunshot wounds.

When asked if the deceased have been on the police radar for any wrongdoing, Bailey said, "I don't know of that. I know we must not speak ill of the dead either, but they have not been brought to the attention of the police in any wrongdoing.

As investigations continue, Bailey is urging those with information to come forward.
