No breakthrough in teen's murder
Up to press time last night, the West Kingston police were yet to make a breakthrough in the shooting death of a young man at his home in Denham Town, Kingston, on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Durrant Robinson.
Reports from the police's Corporate Communications Unit are that Robinson was at his home on Ninth Street in Denham Town, Kingston 12, at about 1:14 p.m on Sunday, when he was allegedly shot to death by unknown assailants, who then fled the scene.
Residents heard explosions and summoned the police.
Upon their arrival, the cops found Robinson inside his house with gunshot wounds to the head. He was pronounced dead at hospital.
Police say they have not made any arrests in the killing and are yet to establish a motive.
Robinson's murder comes just two days after another 19-year-old, Tevin Gordon, was shot dead allegedly by the police in Tivoli Gardens.
Gordon's death triggered a large protest in the area.
The police say investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
