Two more guilty pleas in Geddes murder case

Two more persons have pleaded guilty in connection with the murder of Trelawny resident Tamara Geddes.

Yesterday, Tashana Young, 33, of Norwood in St James, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to murder, while Owen Irving, 55, also from Norwood, pleaded guilty to murder and conspiracy to murder. Both appeared in the Trelawny Circuit Court before Justice Martin Gayle. They will be sentenced on March 19.

Young was represented by Charles Sinclair and Irving by Shelly-Ann Hyman. Another accused, Bryan Shelly, also from Norwood, who is facing a murder charge, did not have a legal representative. He is to return to court on June 7 when a legal representative will be assigned to him.

Gayle asked that a social enquiry report be conducted on Young and Irving. The reports are to be ready on the day of sentencing.

The court was told that all three were involved in orchestrating and executing the murder of Geddes, who was killed on June 19, 2020 in her home in Reserve district.

On Monday, Tamara's sister, Nadeen Geddes, was sentenced to 20 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to murder. Her daughter, Shanice Ruddock, and another daughter who is a minor, received three-year suspended sentences for misprision of felony.
