Last Saturday, Duwayne 'Dewy' Scarlett did a royal wave as he exited the arrival section of London Gatwick Airport.

His wife, social media star/recording artiste Queenie Lady Gangsta, dashed in his arms and showered him with kisses while relatives and friends cheered them on. The two got married in March after knowing each other for less than a year.

Speaking with THE STAR yesterday, Dewy said he is settling in smoothly and felt at home when he landed in the United Kingdom to join his wife.

"From mi reach a di airport is like mi reach home. Mi happy for the warm welcome mi get from family and supporters. Mi wasn't nervous or anything, mi did just excited," he said.

Dewy, who is 20 years younger than Queenie, met her while she was visiting Jamaica in August 2020. Dewy, who was a fan, sent her a message asking if he could meet her in person, and telling her that he was going to be her husband. Queenie said that at first she merely saw him as just a fan, and noted that at the time, she was in Jamaica making preparations for her brother's funeral. However, the sparks flew between her and Dewy and the 'royal' couple tied the knot on March 20.

Some critics are convinced that their relationship is just a show but Dewy said they have silenced their critics.

"Mi can't stop people from say what dem want to say but a one ting mi know and is that when God put down something for a person, no one can take it away from that person. All who a hate can gwan hate because it just make we stronger and dem need to know that I didn't get a visiting visa, I got my residency. The process was suppose to take 90 days but we got it before," he said. "We a gwan do we thing man. Mi have mi bleaching cream on the market and mi and mi wife have we music career a gwan same way and mi ago work."

An elated Queenie said she was over the moon when she finally saw her husband on British soil.

"Mi have diarrhoea about six times. Mi see di man and scream out di man name and run go a di back a di line instead of running to him. Mi get happy feet so till mi never know what to do with myself. Mi daughter just bury and God just turn di script. A mi daughter do it, enuh, because is right on her funeral date everything come through, enuh," she said.

Queenie said they were reunited four days after the funeral of her daughter Sunitha 'Rushel' Lamey, who passed away last month from complications related to womb cancer.

Queenie said that for her and Dewy it will be "one day at a time sweet Jesus".

"Mi husband is here and unity is strength so we going to just make the ball game rolling," Queenie added.
