Former senator Barry Wahrmann dies

Former senator and councillor for the Carron Hall division in the St Mary Municipal Corporation Barrington Wahrmann has died. 

Details surrounding Wahrmann's passing are unclear, however, Robert Montague, Member of Parliament for Western St Mary where Wahrmann served, sent out condolences to family and friends in a Whatsapp message on Monday. 

Wahrmann was a candidate for the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) in the 1976 general election where he was beaten by Allan George Richard Byfield in his quest for the Western St Mary seat. 

A farmer, Wahrmann also served as chairman of the board at the College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE).
