‘Devil’ charged with murder

Donovan Rowe, 45, otherwise called 'Chummy' or 'Devil', of Upper Oxford Street, Denham Town, Kingston, has been charged for several offences following the death of two men in his community on November 29, 2022.

Rowe was charged with two counts of murder, shooting with intent, possession of prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition and making use of a firearm to commit a felony in relation to the death of 30-year-old Jevan Ferguson, otherwise called 'Pim Pim', and 28-year-old Lance Thompson, otherwise called 'Bibi', both of Kingston addresses.

Reports are that about 9:40 a.m., Ferguson, Thompson and a woman were on Upper Oxford Street when Rowe and two other men drove up, exited the vehicle and opened gunfire hitting both men. The woman escaped injuries. The police were summoned and the victims were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead. Rowe was apprehended and charged after an interview. His court date is being finalised.

In a separate incident, detectives in Trelawny have charged two men with using a prohibited weapon to commit a felony following an incident in Nightingale Grove district in the parish on January 15. Charged are 26-year-old Marvin Nelson, otherwise called 'Shane' and 35-year-old Gawayne Nelson, otherwise called 'Rasta', both of Hyde district, Trelawny.

Reports are that about 1 p.m., a man was walking to his farm when he was allegedly approached by Marvin, Gawayne, and other men armed with guns who opened fire at him. The man escaped injuries and reported the matter to the police. Both men were arrested during an operation and charged on February 14. Their court dates are being finalised.
