Person of interest remanded

August 22, 2023

A Corporate Area man who police investigators say they believe is involved in the ongoing war between two gangs in central Kingston was remanded in custody by a senior parish judge.

"It is concerning. The allegation is that you were warned by one judge already and not only that, the police are now saying that your name has been featured in serious offences in that division. So on that basis, for your own safety, you are safer in than you are out," Senior Parish Judge Lori-Anne Cole-Montaque told Delano Anglin. He was placed before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Monday for breaching his bail condition.

Anglin, who is before the court on a charge of unlawful wounding, was ordered by another parish judge to stay away from the Kingston Central area. However, the police liaison officer for the division informed the senior jurist that a murder took place on August 6 and Anglin was listed as a person of interest.

"He knows of the war between the Genasyde and Darksyde gangs that has been happening since last election. Your Honour, he can tell you which side he is on," the liaison officer said.

It was further shared that Anglin was taken into custody for shooting with intent.

"At this time, you will have to stay in custody," Judge Cole-Montaque ruled.

Anglin, who is represented by Charles Williams, was remanded in custody until September 27, when the substantive matter is set for mention.
