More than 10,000 residents from August Town, St Andrew, are set to benefit from improved infrastructure.

Through funding from the second phase of the Government of Jamaica's Integrated Community Development Project (ICDP-II), approximately one kilometre (km) of roadway will be rehabilitated and one km of water distribution main will be installed in August Town along July Road and Bedward Cresent. A total cost of $58.7 million will be spent to undertake these works.

This is the third phase of infrastructure works to improve the access of residents to improved road, water, drainage and sidewalk infrastructure.

Speaking at a project meeting and a tour of the community recently, JSIF Managing Director Omar Sweeney informed that "the JSIF, with funding from the Government of Jamaica, is striving to transform the community of August Town into a space where residents can enjoy a better quality of life".

JSIF has been partnering with the residents and other stakeholders of this community, through financing from the second phase of the Government of Jamaica-funded ICDP-II to deliver services to improve their living conditions and their perception of safety. ICDP-II aims to promote public safety transformation through the provision of basic infrastructure and social services to eight communities in the parishes of Kingston and St Andrew, Clarendon and St James
