Near miss for duo as Portland house collapses

Two Portland residents managed to escape injury after their home in Content, Hope Bay was damaged in this morning's 5.6 magnitude earthquake. 

The occupants were spared due to having journeyed to Kingston to visit relatives on Saturday.

The entire first floor of the dwelling crumbled as concrete walls and columns were dislodged with steels protruding all over.

The earthquake, which was felt at approximately 10:57 a.m., also lead to several landslides, impacting several roadways.
