St Catherine man who scammed job seekers to make restitution
The St Catherine man who reportedly scammed persons out of almost $300,000 in a cruise ship job scam, is expected to repay his victims come early January.
It is reported that in 2021, the accused convinced his victims that he is able to get employment for them in the Tourist Shipping Industry in exchange for monetary compensation.
The STAR understands he collected $280,000 from three victims.
When the jobs were not forthcoming and attempts to contact him failed, the matter was reported.
Investigation journeyed to St Mary on September 20, 2023 and the accused was held.
He was eventually charged with larceny by trick.
