Member of Parliament (MP) for Westmoreland Central, George Wright, says road conditions within his Constituency continue to improve at a steady pace.

“Work has been done in several areas, to include Shrewsbury, Logwood, Bird Mountain, Whithorn to Darliston, Cornwall Mountain, Strawberry to Content main road, and the Bullet Tree road, amongst many others, and many others to come,” Mr. Wright said.

He was making his contribution to the 2023/24 State of the Constituency Debate in the House of Representatives on Wednesday (November 29).

Wright thanked the Government, while noting that he anticipates “additional projects to build back a stronger road network in Westmoreland Central”.

The MP also informed that a state-of-the-art mini sport ground was completed in Cooke Street three weeks ago, in partnership with the Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF).

“We are further looking to add light, to accommodate night sport, which we believe will engage more youth and bring calm and purpose to the community. I would [also] like to express thanks to the Tourism Product Development Company (TPDCo) for providing the resources to build proper sanitary conveniences and a work shed at the St. Mary’s Beach for the fisherfolk in Savanna-la-Mar. Work will commence soon,” Wright stated.
