Baby girl dies following fall from building

A five-month-old baby girl succumbed to injuries she sustained after she reportedly fell from a three-storey building in Barrett Town, St. James on Wednesday morning. 

The police have launched an investigation into a possible infanticide after it was alleged the infant's mother threw the baby from the building before jumping off the same building herself.

The series of events reportedly stemmed from a disagreement between the baby’s parents.

The baby’s mother remains in hospital.

Police investigations continue as the community seeks to come to terms with this tragic event.

Mental health professionals have been called in to support the affected family and residents.
