St Ann man accused of stabbing woman to death

A 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged following the stabbing death of a woman on Market Street in St Ann on April 7.

Theron Lugg, otherwise called ‘Ruddy’, of Windsor Heights, St Ann, was taken into custody on Tuesday following investigations into the death of 48-year-old Taneka Mattis of Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland and Ocho Rios, St Ann.

About 10:45 p.m., residents reportedly saw the body lying on the roadway and alerted the police.

On their arrival, Mattis was seen with multiple stab wounds to the upper body. She was transported to the hospital, where death was confirmed.

Lugg was charged after a question and answer on Wednesday.

His court date is being arranged.
