Popular company Paymaster (Jamaica) Limited has temporarily lost its licences to operate its remittance business.

The Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) today told Jamaicans that it has suspended Paymaster’s licences as a Remittance Primary Agent until further advised, effective Friday, July 5.

The BOJ did not say the reason for the suspension.

However, it indicated that the move means that Paymaster is no longer authorised to offer remittance services as a Primary Agent and therefore no remittance services will be offered at its 19 locations.

The affected locations are:

* AC Roberts Service Station, Nain, St Elizabeth

* Appleby Consultants Limited, 54 Duke Street, Kingston
