Nephew breaks uncle’s toes in dispute

A Corporate Area man was found guilty of wounding his uncle, two years after the matter was first brought before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.

Marcus Gordon is to be sentenced by Senior Parish Judge Lori-Anne Cole-Montaque on October 10. It was reported that on March 16, 2022, the uncle went to a premises occupied by Gordon, to serve summons on a tenant living on the property. After the summons was served, the tenant said something to Gordon, who shouted to his uncle, "Yuh nuh own nuh house." Gordon then started throwing stones at his uncle, which resulted in one of the objects hitting him on his foot, fracturing three of his toes. The complainant also lost his balance, resulting in further injuries to his foot.

Gordon then ran and said, "*****, me ago guh fi me gun."

When Gordon was cautioned by police, he said, "A dis yuh really wake me up outta me bed fah. Offica, yuh caah charge me fi sumn weh me never do."

The matter was tried by the senior jurist, who requested a social enquiry report. Gordon was remanded in custody until his sentencing.
