Taxi man allegedly caught having sex with schoolgirl granted bail

A 37-year-old taxi operator who was caught having sex with a 15-year-old schoolgirl was granted bail of $600,000 with surety in the St Catherine Parish Court on Wednesday.

Conditions attached to the bail are that he surrenders his travel documents, no contact with complainant and reports twice weekly to the St James police.

The accused has been charged with having sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 15 years.

He is scheduled to reappear in court on April 14.

Allegations are that in February police personnel went to Green Acres, St Catherine where a Toyota Probox was parked with foggy glass.

Checks inside revealed the driver and the teenager allegedly in the nude having sex.

He allegedly picked up the child at an educational institution and took her to the location where they were held .

He was arrested and subsequently charged by the police.
