Twenty-one-year-old Omario Whyte, of St Simon district, Hanover, is behind bars after he allegedly broke into and ransacked a woman's house following a dispute on August 9.

He has been charged with housebreaking and larceny and malicious destruction of property.

The Lucea police say the complainant was at her business place when she got into a dispute with Whyte.

During the dispute, Whyte allegedly threatened to break into her house and throw away her belongings.

The complainant was later notified by a neighbour that Whyte had ransacked her house.

The police were contacted and, upon their arrival, a damaged fan worth $7,000, a television valued at $30,000 and cash amounting to $150,000 were reported missing.

Whyte was subsequently charged on Monday.

His court date is scheduled for Thursday, August 20, at the Lucea Parish Court.
