No gas leak detected at New Kingston Pizza Hut - ROJ
Restaurants of Jamaica Limited (ROJ), the local franchise holder of Pizza Hut, says a comprehensive inspection following an explosion at nearby Burger King in New Kingston has confirmed that its premises are free of any gas leaks and hazards.
Pizza Hut workers were evacuated in the aftermath of the explosion.
In a statement on Wednesday afternoon, Restaurants of Jamaica Limited said the fumes that affected the Pizza Hut New Kingston restaurant were directly linked to the explosion at Burger King.
"Following a comprehensive inspection by representatives from the fire brigade, our company technician, as well as our gas supplier, it has been confirmed that there was no gas leak at the Pizza Hut New Kingston restaurant.
"All have confirmed that the Pizza Hut New Kingston premises are free of any leaks and hazards. As a result, Pizza Hut New Kingston was cleared to safely reopen and has resumed normal operations," Restaurants of Jamaica Limited said.
The company said Pizza Hut team members who were affected by the fumes all received medical attention and were cleared to resume their regular activities.
