People’s National Party supporters in Manchester North East are ready to see the back of veteran Jamaica Labour Party Member of Parliament, Audley Shaw, claiming that he is holding back the development of the constituency.

Comrades who spoke with our mews team at the PNP’s 86th annual conferences at the National Arena in St Andrew and are throwing their support behind Val Wint have given the stalwart a failing mark for his stewardship.

“Time come fi get rid ah Audley Shaw, him a walk wid walking stick a Parliament, and not even a community centre him nuh build over the 30 years that he has been there, not even a tax office.

“Those people need to leave so we can get people who love and care for us,” said Kenyatta, 57, a resident of Craighead in the constituency.

While noting that he was not trying to tear down Shaw, the PNP supporter said the only thing he could credit the MP for is a highway which is less than a mile long.

According to him, Wint was not only coming with vision but vision for the youths.

Keith, 65, echoed similar sentiments that representation was lacking in the constituency.

“We nuh have nuh housing scheme, he should go long time,” he said.

Mark Martin, 63, asserted that communities in other constituencies in the parish were far more developed than those in Manchester North East.

“He is holding back the constituency, him fi go!” he said.
