Man on the run after shooting at police arrested and charged

A man who was on the run since last February for allegedly shooting at the police on Nelson Road in St Andrew has finally been arrested and charged.

The accused is 30-year-old Omar Logan, otherwise called ‘Jems’, of Pretoria Road, Kingston 13.

He is charged with four counts of shooting with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.

The Hunts Bay Criminal Investigations Branch says that about 2:50 p.m., the police were travelling along Nelson Road when they observed Logan standing along the roadway.

Logan, upon seeing the police, reportedly ran into a premises and allegedly returned with a firearm in his hand and opened gunfire at the cops.

They returned fire and Logan fled the scene.

After a long investigation, Logan was caught on Wednesday July 24, and charged on Monday, September 16.
